Barbara Ann Harden Entrekin

Mrs. Barbara Ann Harden Entrekin, age 72 of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Emory Mid-Town Hospital. Barbara Ann Harden Entrekin was born April 1, 1942 in Aiken, South Carolina, daughter of Annie Lois McCullough and Walter (Tex) Dubowski. Due to the death of both parents when she was a very small child, she was raised by her grandparents, James Fleetwood (Jim) McCullough and Nannie McGahee McCullough. She was educated in the Griffin-Spalding County School System and retired from Spalding Regional Medical Center after 38 years of service as a Medical Technologist. She was a member of Rock Springs Church in Milner, Georgia. As the daughter of an artist, she inherited much of her father’s talent. Barbara loved to paint, sew, make jewelry, custom embroidery and monograming. She also made wedding cakes and catered weddings for many years. She was the owner of Barbara’s Florist, Catering, and Gifts until declining health forced her to retire. She loved her family, friends, art, crafts, plants, and kitty cat. Barbara was an active member of the Atlanta Scarlett Hatters and The Gesneriads Society. She also enjoyed sewing for missions. Mrs. Entrekin was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Lois and Walter Dubowski; grandparents, Jim and Nannie McCullough of Griffin; brothers, James Alonzo and Bobby Seal McCullough; sister, Evelyn M. Woodle. Mrs. Entrekin is survived by her husband, George Donald Entrekin; children, Richard Derald Evans; Deigh Anne Evans Frost; grandchildren, Jennifer Evans Boyt, Allison Marie Evans, Sydney Augusta Frost and Abigail Jewel Frost; great-grandsons, Caleb Ryan Boyt, Aaron Thomas Weathers and Lucas Adam Owens; sister, Shirley McCullough Costlow; step-sons, Ronald and Kenneth Entrekin; many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Barbara Ann Harden Entrekin will be Monday, March 9, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
