Belinda Yvonne Delaney

The Woman Belinda Yvonne "Pep" Miller Delaney was born on August 14, 1956 in Griffin, Ga to the late Modica Miller and Carrie Mae Miller. She is the sixth child of nine children. Belinda graduated from Griffin High School in 1974. Belinda united in holy matrimony to her high school sweetheart, Rickey Delaney for 37 years. With this union they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Yasmeen and Rasheedah Delaney. The Journey Belinda accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in the SpringHill Community where she attended Springhill Baptist Church. As she grew in Christ, she moved her membership to The Shield of Faith Christian Center with her husband and daughters. Belinda served faithfully as an active member of Shield of Faith and served as a member of The Women of Wisdom Organization within the church. Belinda was a dedicated employee of The O'Reilly Auto Parts in Forest Park, Ga. The Fight Belinda has always been a strong believer in God, her fight with Breast Cancer began in June of 2012. God continued to show her Grace and Mercy upon her life. Through this fight, encouraging words were spoken to her by her daughters. Yasmeen said to her, "God got you Belinda!" and Rasheedah said to her, "Small things to a giant, Pep." Her faith was maximized and her strength was in overdrive, because she knew the plans God had for her, the plans of good and not evil. She broke chains, praised him in the middle of it, turned her test into a Testimony, and stood on the promise God had for her. In Belinda's words, "I'm going to beat this thing or die trying, believe that." The Love On Monday, December 8, 2014, God chose to call his Gladiator home, saying, "You're Victorious, I Got You!" Belinda was preceded in death by her loving mother, Carrie Mae Miller and grandmother Hazel Daniels. Belinda leaves to cherish the memories of her devoted husband of 37 years, Rickey Delaney, two daughters, Yasmeen and Rasheedah Delaney. She leaves precious memories of her in laws. A special mother in law, Jeanette MaHone of Griffin, GA; a brother in law, Jackie (Sandra) Delaney of Sharpsburg, GA; a special sister in law, Bobbie Jean Bruce of Griffin, GA. Sharon (Nedra) Delaney and Adrian Delaney of Griffin, GA. Three special nieces, Ebony Appling (Shone), Samanthia "Mapp" Williams, and Fayette Bussell (Faye). A special great niece, Ti'Mya Mack and a special great nephew, Amir Hightower and a host of nieces and nephews. She is thankful for the special bond with Sallie Crafter, Doris Hightower, Laquita Wimbush, Linda Callaway, Florinda Walker (Meat), Cynthia Oliver, Angela Askins (Noodie), Lithonia Mann (KeKe), First Lady Larita Barkley, The Griffin Housewives, and a host of good friends that will truly miss her. You may pay your respect for Mrs. Delaney on Friday, December 12, 2014 from noon until 7:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:00pm at Griffin First Assembly. Reverend Christopher Clark will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens.
