Bernice O. Mangham

Mrs. Bernice O'Kelley Mangham, age 93 of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Brightmoor Nursing Center. Mrs. Bernice O'Kelley Mangham was born in 1922 in Walton County Georgia. She and Mr. Harvey Mangham met in Atlanta where they both were working in war-related services. They married in 1943 and lived in Atlanta until their move to his home in Pike County Georgia, where they lived until their move to Griffin in 1951. Mrs. Mangham was predeceased by her husband Harvey Mangham and her stepson Marvin Mangham. She was also predeceased by her parents Anteny and Matty O'Kelley; brothers Jack, J.T. and James O'Kelley, sisters Willie May Shubert and Ree Brooks. Mrs. Mangham is survived by four children and their families: Larry and Cindy Mangham, Glen and Joyce Mangham, Ricky and Shari Mangham, and Linda and Maryon Williams, Jr.; grandchildren are Richard Mangham and Nancy Mangham Daniell, Jason and Chuck Brooks, Holli Mangham and Justin Davis, Claire Williams and Kellie Stein, Kim Mangham; great grandchildren are Cameron McClain Daniell, Lance Daniell, Jason Davis, Hannah Mangham, Megan and Andrew Brooks, Adam and Ajay Brooks, Emma, Madeleine and Bennett Stein. Also surviving are brothers Gene, Lamar, and Donald O'Kelley; sisters Mary Sue Davis and Margaret Hansen. Many nieces and nephews, along with their children also survive. Mrs. Mangham was a member of Hammond Drive Baptist Church (now known as Faith Fellowship) where she taught Sunday School early on. She worked for many years at several Griffin based businesses. She retired a number of years ago to take care of her husband who died in 1998. With her devoted care, Mr. Mangham was able to stay at home until several months before his death. A visitation will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at Faith Fellowship, 475 Hammond Drive, Griffin. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted in the sanctuary. Interment will be in Westwood Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family would like for you to consider making a contributions to Faith Fellowship Church formerly Hammond Drive Baptist Church, 475 Hammond Drive, Griffin, Georgia 30224 in memory of Mrs. Mangham.
