Ella Green

Mrs. Ella Lou Richardson Green, age 64, formerly of Griffin passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 at her home in Forest Park. Mrs. Green was born March 28, 1945 to the late Mr. Josh and Mrs. Ethel W. Richardson. She is preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Fannie and Mr. Ozzie Flemister; brothers and sister-in-law, Mr. Johnny Richardson, Mr. Eugene and Mrs. Annette Richardson. Mrs. Green was born in Barnesville but later moved to Griffin where she was educated in the Spalding County School System. She married the late Arthur L. Green on January 9, 1964 in Griffin. Out of that union, they were blessed with three children. She was baptized and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Barnesville. Later, she moved to Atlanta, following her dreams to become an entrepreneur. Mrs. Green operated her own cleaning business for more than 20 years. She operated her business with so much integrity and quality that many of her customers became personal friends. She was one you could always call upon and was very inviting to family, friends and even strangers. Mrs. Green never turned anyone away. She was out-going and would always say what was on her mind. She was a confidante, a mother and friend. Some may say she was somewhat a counselor that always had an ear to hear. She leaves to mourn her three children, Trena A. Green of Forest Park, Randy (Yolanda) Green of Riverdale and Clara (Marcus) Alexander of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, Twanna and Iesha Smith, Nikkita Willingham, Xavier, Olijujuan, Cassius and Zaria Green, Darius Alexander, Jamal Anderson and Justin Alexander; 8 siblings, Mrs. Ruby (the late Cecil) Foster, Mr. George (Sandra) Richardson, Mr. Robert (Sandra) Richardson and Evangelist Frances “Rev Freddie” Phillips of Griffin, Mrs. Lena (Tommy) Williams of Maryland, Mrs. Betty (the late Bob) Evans, Mrs. Shirley (Howard) Price of Atlanta and Mrs. Martha (Willie) Lewis of Hampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A memorial service for Mrs. Green will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner Westbury Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
