Geneva Hall

Geneva Hall passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on January 16, 2015. She was born on January 15, 1944 in Eclectic, Alabama. She was a dedicated and exemplary elementary school teacher who touched the lives of hundreds of students during her 30 years with the Clayton County School System. As a young girl, she accepted Jesus as her Savior, and loved and served him for the rest of her days. She was a longtime member of Forest Park Assembly of God in Forest Park, Georgia for 15 years where she also taught Sunday School for several years. Following this, she was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Jonesboro, Georgia for 20 years and taught Sunday School and led the girl's club organization. She is currently a member at Griffin First Assembly in Griffin, Georgia, where she has attended faithfully for the past 16 years. Geneva taught Sunday School, vacation bible school, and was a regular participant in the ladies bible study. Her two greatest loves in life were her faith and her family. She was the heartbeat of her family, and their "go-to person." She could be counted on to listen, give Godly advice, support, and prayer, to both family and her countless friends. As a life-long learner, she sought out quality books, and was an avid reader. Her favorite books were her Bible and many devotional books. Geneva thoroughly enjoyed researching her family's genealogy, and is a member of the Andrew McBride Henry County Chapter of DAR; Daughters of the American Revolution. She crafted beautifully detailed scrapbooks of her beloved family members and friends. Her creativity extended to her yard, where she spent countless hours gardening and tending to her flowers, whenever the weather was suitable. She enjoyed corresponding and visiting with her beloved brother, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Both she and her husband enjoyed cheering on the Atlanta Braves from the comfort of their home. Her high energy, active lifestyle, and good health, belied her true age. She was an extremely involved wife, mother, and grandmother, who was truly young at heart. Geneva's thoughtful, generous, and considerate nature was a blessing to everyone she touched. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, including her sweet dog, Rebel. Geneva was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Grier, her father Howard Moseley, and her youngest brother Michael Moseley. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted and loving husband of 52 years, Bill Hall, her oldest daughter Suzanne Coffey and husband Mark Coffey of Port Charlotte, FL, her younger daughter Jennifer Hall of McDonough, GA, four grandchildren: Hillary Hall of McDonough GA, Emily Coffey, Rachel Coffey, and Caleb Coffey, all of Port Charlotte FL. She is also survived by one brother, Lamar Moseley of Lucedale, MS, two sisters Amber Bennett of Columbia, SC, Bonnie Barthel of Lena, MS, several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Her family will receive visitors Monday, January 19th, from 6-8pm at Griffin First Assembly. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 20th, at 2pm also at Griffin First Assembly. She will be laid to rest at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro, GA. The arrangements are being handled by Conner-Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin, GA. (770-227-2300)
