Hope Biles Whiting

Hope Biles Whiting, age 61, Eatonton resident, passed away June 4, 2014—surrounded by her family—after a brief illness. Hope was born August 11, 1952 in Griffin, GA to loving parents Roy and Hazel Biles. In 1975, she married Ed Whiting with whom she shared love, laughter and family for 39 wonderful years. Through their years in Atlanta, Griffin, Snellville, and Eatonton, Hope and Ed cherished their family, especially their son, Ben. Whether capably running the operations of Whiting & Associates, cooking an incredible meal for 12, or navigating her family’s busy schedules, Hope radiated happiness and productivity. No matter what anyone needed, she would get it done. Lovingly known to so many as “Aunt” Hope, it was rare for anyone to meet her and not become her instant friend. Hope never met a stranger. Nothing brought Hope more joy than her family, her friends and simply being together. Generous, kind, open-hearted, and larger-than-life; words are too small to capture her spirit She leaves a very large hole in the hearts of her family and her many friends. Her legacy is one of love and a passion for life, reminding everyone who knew her to appreciate and enjoy every minute of the time that we have. She is survived by her husband Ed, her son Ben (Erin) of Traverse City, Mich; her sister Kathy (Frankie) Goldstein of Griffin; brother in-law Bob Whiting (Emily) of Stockbridge; brother-in-law Terry (Carrie) Whiting of Kittery Point, Maine; nieces Emily (Ben) Johnson of Griffin, Mackenzie (Dan) Garner of LaGrange, Lori (Tim) Swink of Buford, and Robin Whiting of Auburn; nephew Rynn Goldstein of Griffin; and great-nephews Skylar Gwin of Auburn, Rhett Johnson of Griffin, and Logan Garner of LaGrange. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Wylene Whiting. Visitation will be Saturday, June 7 from noon to 2pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin with funeral services immediately following. The Reverend John Nance will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
