Jean Ison Walker

Mrs. Jean Ison Walker, age 84 of Griffin, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 21, 2016. Mrs. Walker is remembered as a great Christian, loving wife, devoted mother, and a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. She adored her two sisters and two brothers. She was a friend to all. She lived her life each day in a way that always brought glory to her Lord and Savior. She was a very talented lady and excelled in music, art and crafts. She and her sisters (Mildred and Vivian) spent the last ten years using their talents to design, sew and produce all types of crafts which they sold and then donated all the proceeds to missions work. Mrs. Walker was born in Digby, Georgia on February 22, 1931. She graduated from Spalding County High School. She attended Griffin Technical College, where she completed programs in Secretarial Science and Cosmetology. Mrs. Walker was co-owner of Mobile Hydraulics Inc. of College Park, GA. She retired in 1992. She was a very active member of the Cathedral of Praise Church and the Georgia Assemblies of God Women’s and Senior’s Ministry Programs. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grady W. Ison and Addie Mae Bates Ison; husband, Jesse MacLandon Walker, Jr.; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Walker Brumbalow; grandson, Jesse MacLandon Fowler; great grandson, Tucker Anderson; sister, Mildred Ison Hoard; brother, William Grady “Bill” Ison. Survivors include her daughters, Rochelle Brumbalow, Betty Walker Fowler and husband, Major Eddie Fowler US Army Retired; Ginger Walker Parker and husband, Len Parker; son-in-law, Reverend Roger Brumbalow; grandchildren, Amy and David Powers, Claire and Reverend Clint Jett, Jason Fowler, Reverend Keith and Christina Brumbalow, Sheree and Bert Kennedy, Lindsay Parker, Ashley and Nick Anderson, Luke and Lyndsey Parker, Eric and Christin Parker, Abby Fowler, Seth Fowler; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Vivian Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Marshall and Janie Ison; sisters-in-law, Mildred Walker, Grace Fields, Leola Ison Huguley; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Jean Ison Walker will be on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Cathedral of Praise Church, 7401 Newnan Road, Brooks, GA 30205. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Georgia LIFE Mission Fund, c/o Georgia Women Ministries, P.O. Box 28470, Macon, GA 31221 in memory of Mrs. Walker.
